Waterville, NY 13480

The Waterville Central School District is located in Oneida and part of Madison County in Central New York State, 14 miles south of and 50 miles east of Syracuse, just off New York State Routes 12 and 20.

The school district is comprised of the Towns of Sangerfield, Marshall, Augusta, Vernon, Madison, Brookfield, Kirkland and Paris with a population of approximately 4,000.

The school community is primarily residential but does contain numerous small businesses and dairy farms. Most residents work in business and industry in the greater Utica/Rome area. Due to its central location, the Waterville area enjoys many of the advantages of larger suburbs and metropolitan areas.

Residents of the district have a host of educational institutions available to them for both undergraduate and graduate studies. These include Hamilton College in Clinton, Syracuse University, Utica College, Colgate University, Mohawk Valley Community College, Morrisville College (SUNY), and the SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome.

The Waterville Central School District is within a short distance of some of the finest recreational areas of our nation. The Adirondacks, with its lakes and mountains, the Catskills, an abundance of golf courses, ski slopes, and snowmobiling trails are but a short distance away.

The district is fortunate to be situated amongst a rich array of cultural resources including the Utica Symphony, The Broadway Theater League, a number of local theater companies, the Kirkland Art Center, The Children's Museum, Munson Williams Proctor Institute and Museum of Art, and the Everson Museum in Syracuse. Major arts festivals and events are hosted in nearby Utica, Clinton, Hamilton and Cooperstown.
